WASTE DISPOSAL
A garbage chute service room is located at the western end of all residential levels. The chute is for the discarding of disposable waste only. Waste items, including newspapers, or bottles etc. are not to be left on the garbage room floor or in any of the common areas at any time.
When using the garbage chute please ensure the garbage is securely contained in a regular size plastic bag. All plastic bags must fit readily into the tray of the chute and therefore not pose any threat of blocking the facility. Residents should use common sense when disposing waste into the chute.
The following items must not be disposed of via the chute:
- Liquid of any description.
- Burnt food items which may still be emitting smoke.
- Cardboard boxes, including pizza cartons.
- Newspapers and magazines.
- Bottles or broken glass.
- Sharp objects.
It is essential that all residents and their guests and contractors respect and comply with the building's waste disposal and recycling policies. When employing private cleaners, please ensure that they are instructed on the correct use of the waste services in the building.
Recycling
It is the responsibility of all residents to take bottles, plastic containers, cans, cardboard and newspapers to the Garbage Room located at each residential Level, and deposit them in the clearly marked 240 litre Sulo bins provided for their disposal.
